With CES just weeks away the Sony Yuga is making headlines once again. Sony’s upcoming flagship will feature a 5 inch 1080p full HD display and according to the latest rumour, will make its debut as the Xperia Z.
Furthermore, Sony look set to grab a march on rivals by combining a stunning specs list with dust and water proof certification all in a body just 7.9mm thin (which is absolutely stunning!) The Yuga (or Xperia Z) looks set to go head to head with the HTC Butterfly, which also features dust and waterproof certification as well as a 5 inch full HD 1080p screen.
Sony’s 5 inch screen on the Yuga is expected to use Sony’s OptiContrast technology, which is also found in the Xperia V, Xperia Tablet S and some Sony TVs. The company uses the OptiContract technology to reduce glare and this could be a great feature in their first phablet.
Expect the Sony C660X Xperia Z Yuga to be announced either at CES at the beginning of January or during the mobile-centric Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February.
